i've been wanting to post what happened the Sunday before last at church. I went to pick him up from his class and he pulled me over to the teacher. She told me that during story time they used a certain story telling block to show the story of Jesus and mentioned how we get eternal life. But rather than calling it "saved" they tell the children to ask Jesus to be their best friend and to ask for forgiveness and so on. she said 4 students wanted to say the prayer asking this right away. She tried to get them to wait for the parents so they could talk to them about it, but the kids were adamant at doing it right then. So Brody asked Jesus to be his best friend! Me and David were real excited but we also realize that Brody is only 6, so he can really only understand so much. Then yesterday we read a kid's book on being saved and it had a prayer in the end that he said. It was funny, during the prayer it mentioned "please forgive me for breaking your rules" Brody looked up and said I DIDNT BREAK ANY RULES! it was funny. But regardless of how much he understands, it's still a huge leap in his walk with the Lord and we are so proud of him!!
Another exciting thing in his life - we are putting him in (ANOTHER) school next week. Primrose is awesome, but this opportunity has been thrown in our laps and allows us to stay in this house for 5-6 more years without worrying about school. God hooked us up. Brittany explained it best - he blesses me in my ignorance. I filled out an application for what I thought was first grade, at this new charter school (like a private-public school). I got a call that I had actually filled out a Kindergarten app and they have an opening. And the reason we are switching now is b/c it ensures him a spot for 1st grade. If we wait until open enrollment, they only have about 10 spots and their chosen on a lottery system. So by my complete ignorance, we stumbled on this awesome opportunity and get to stay in this house until the market gets better and we have money saved to move!!! YAY!!
